their Criswell numbers (if you use the Cassidy, Freeman or
Slabaugh numbers, you can go to our Cross-Index page to
identify these notes). Contrary to widespread belief, very few
Florida notes were actually signed by governors. Those notes,
all 1861 issues, are identified as Perry Signature
and Milton Signature (see our Milton Signature page to learn
more). These notes are more highly valued than notes
signed by surrogate signers.
