Florida was a territory of the United States from 1821
when it was purchased from Spain until it achieved
statehood in 1845. During this period the territorial
government tendered two issues of currency. The 1829 issue
consisted of 50c, $1, $2, $3 and $5 notes, all are extremely rare
and almost never offered for sale. The second issue, dated
1830 and 1831, consisted of $1, $2, $3 and $5 notes. While
rare, these notes are sometimes available, and we may be able
to obtain them for you even if we don't have them in
stock. Contact us if you need any of these
notes. Note: a few unissued
remainder notes of the second issue also
exist. They were printed with the original
plates on period paper, but their exact origin remains
unknown, so they are not as costly as the issued
notes. At this time we can offer:
None in stock at this time.
